Mark Davis and Sarah German live with their young son in Carlisle, Cumbria. They practice and teach Taiji, as well as practicing other disciplines as part of their own search for internal development and Spiritual Truth.

Mark Davis

Mark began training Taiji in 1995 at Atlas Works in Carlisle, under the Northern School of Taiji Chuans founder and principal instructor, Dan Russell. He was fortunate to be introduced to Patrick Kelly, Dans Taiji Teacher, and began to attend intensive seminars with Patrick in Europe and Carlisle. He finds Patricks depth of practice and teaching inspirational, and invaluable in developing his own practice.

Mark also began training Ashtanga Yoga in 1996 and regularly attends workshops with David Swenson, one of the worlds foremost teachers and practitioners of Ashtanga, which provides Mark with increasingly subtle insights into the internal aspects of his yoga practice.

He has now been teaching Taiji and Yoga for more than ten years. His teaching evolves with his own practice, as his understanding deepens through contact with his Teachers.

He has also received Teachings from Lama Khemsar Rinpoche and Inti Cesar Melasquez, and is grateful to both of them for the fruit of these teachings.

Sarah German

Following an initial period studying Wu style Taiji, in 2000 Sarah became a student of Patrick Kelly, and his system of Taiji and internal development. She maintains contact with Patrick, and continues to attend training seminars whenever possible.

Sarah became a student of Lama Khemsar Rinpoche in May 2004, and began regular practice of Yungdrung Bon.

Lama Khemsar Rinpoche is a lineage Lama and eminent Teacher of Yungdrung Bon, the original and authentic spiritual tradition of Tibet. Yungdrung Bon or ‘Eternal Light’ teachings are based on unconditional Love and compassion towards all sentient beings, and are designed to provide the practitioner with method and wisdom to cope with and transform life’s challenges. Rinpoche not only shows his students how to practice to achieve transformation in their own lives, he himself embodies the Teachings – showing the ultimate aim and object of all Practices. His Teaching is not concerned with Dogma, only Spiritual Knowledge.

The Practice provided a firm foundation on which to base other teachings Sarah received, and through persistent practice and regular contact with Rinpoche, she began to see the direct link between this and all other Spiritual Paths.

Sarahs teaching is the by product of her own practice, not the focus. As such her teaching reflects her own insights and developments.

We give thanks for all our teachers – our family and friends who teach us daily, and the Men of immense Wisdom and Knowledge who have shaped our path with skilful methods of transformation. May we continue to practice until the final goal is realised. May we serve all sentient beings along the way.”
