we create nothing, express nothing, we only uncover what is already there
Meditation is a way of Being.
The process of stilling the mind in order to begin to learn to meditate is one of the fundamental endeavours of taking a deeper, or spiritual path through life.
Alongside this process of stilling the mind and becoming aware of ourselves, it is essential that we develop a greater awareness of our emotions, and how the expression of these can cause suffering to ourselves and those around us. Through developing tolerance, patience, being non judgemental of others and their actions, we begin to see ourselves and others differently. The development of a non-judgemental attitude, and unconditional compassion is the path of the Spiritual Warrior.
Each action, each thought is an opportunity to self liberate, and to begin to uncover the purity of our innate nature. As our emotions quieten, so the mind can become truly still.
Focusing on the breath, and later on the energy field, are useful steps to begin to direct the focus of the superficial mind internally.
Practices such as Taiji, Qi Gong, and Yoga, if well taught and diligently practiced, are helpful in this respect. They also help to develop and stabilise the five elemental energies or forces within the body.
Mantras when correctly transmitted and practiced, initiate and establish a connection to the subtle energies within ourselves, are helpful in developing compassion towards others and further assist in taming and clearing obstructions in the mind.
As practice develops, and with consistent effort a deeper sense of awareness is uncovered, and the superficial mind becomes still, allowing the Deep Mind to manifest.
Beyond the Deep Mind we are taught that Self Realisation is possible for those who diligently seek it
