The ancient yogis developed maps to the inner being and beyond using external postures, breath and focus, but how the map is followed is vital to the success of the journey.

All external forms are only truly useful when used as a tool to still the mind, and intensify internal awareness.

As with all practices, consistent internal effort and correct intention can reveal the true inner nature.

The main form of yoga used by Five Elements is Ashtanga.

Ashtanga is characterised by a fluid stream of postures precisely linked with intensely focused and carefully timed breath.

For the body there is great joy in the graceful fluid movement, energising and increasing elasticity, and rejuvenating the whole - the heat generated through breath and movement purges and cleanses.

Focused awareness of the breath draws the mind to a vanishing point.

breath becomes mantra and postures the beads of the mala.
